I will not be here on Monday.  We will be discussing comma splices, run on sentences, and fragments.  You will be peer editing the rough drafts that you wrote on Wednesday.  I am also asking that you insert the staments you created when you paraphrased and quoted the readings on flag burning into your rough drafts.

You will be given time to work on your CD-ROM homework and typing your rough draft which is due on Wednesday.

I have attached the handouts you missed and the Power Point presentation.

Today we discussed summarizing and paraphrasing.  The journal was the handout listed below requiring you to agree or disagree with the statement “There should be a ban on flag burning.”  This is also the topic for your essay rough draft which was done in class today.  If you missed class today you can take 55 minutes to write or type this essay on your own, but please limit yourself to the time limit.  You will need the rough draft to participate in Monday’s class.

There was also a quiz today.  There will be a substitute Monday.  If you missed class today you can go to the media center to complete the quiz during the time alloted for journaling.

We also discussed the time line for the paper on flag burning and the assignments that will be due on Wednesday April 16th.  Even though I will not be in class there will be a substitute and you are expected to be in attendance.
