Today we discussed Verb Tense and Paragraphs, went over homework and turned in final essays. PowerPoint is attached at the bottom.
Tonight’s homework
read pages 85, 88-90 and complete Exercise 3.5 and 3.6. Make sure to read each of the noted articles if you haven’t already done so. To prepare for Monday’s discussion do the following for each reading…
1. What type of hook is used?
2. Is it effective? Why?
3. Underline the thesis statment and topic sentences
4. Does the conclusion restate teh main topics and thesis statement?
5. Is it effective? Why?
Read pages 337-340 Complete Exercises 13.1 and 13.2
For Monday – Read Page 39 – 62
You do not need to read the essay’s – unless they are for the assignment above
We will have our first quiz next Wednesday…it will be over the notes you have taken in class
